Goolwa is a town located in the southern region of South Australia, Australia. It is situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 100 kilometers south of the state capital of Adelaide. Goolwa is located at the mouth of the Murray River, where it meets the Southern Ocean.

The town has a rich history, having been established in 1837 as a river port for the thriving river trade. The town was an important hub for the transport of goods such as wool, wheat, and timber. Today, Goolwa is a popular tourist destination, known for its historic charm, beautiful beaches, and water sports.

One of the main attractions of Goolwa is the Goolwa Wharf, which has been restored and converted into a cultural and tourist center. Another popular attraction is the Coorong National Park, which is located just south of Goolwa. The park is a vast wetland area that is home to a diverse range of birdlife and other wildlife. Visitors can explore the park on foot, by kayak, or on a guided tour.

In addition to its natural and cultural attractions, Goolwa also hosts a range of festivals and events throughout the year, including the South Australian Wooden Boat Festival and the Goolwa Regatta Week.
